Introduction Footprint Project
Description: This footprint activity is a great way to get to know students and their artistic abilities! First, you trace your foot or feet on a piece of large construction paper to get the "print" size. Then you can allow the students to use at least three pieces of media to show their interests. Their name will need to be included in some way, in their own style. There should be a decent amount of used space but everyone will complete it differently! My explanation of my symbols:
Food: I love fruit, waffles, and pasta. I also enjoy ice cream especially love mint chip!
Faith: My Catholic faith is pretty strong and has shaped me into the person I am today.
Family: I love spending time with my family; my dad, mom, and sister.
Flowers: Planting flowers and walking around greenhouses is my favorite thing to do in the spring and summer months.
Outdoors: I love being outside just going on walks or sitting in the sun.
Silos: I am a farm girl at heart and enjoy being on my family's farm or my boyfriend's family farm. I also love home decorating so these are the Silos in Waco, Texas that Chip and Joanna Gaines!
Extension Activity: I really loved this project and I think it was a great way for all of us to express our personalities to the class. I think another great way to complete this is a classroom would be for the student to decorate, just like this, a puzzle piece paper. When completed, you can hang it all up and complete the class puzzle. For the upper elementary, you can encourage them to write a few sentences explaining each piece and it's importance to them!
